The deacons sincerely appreciate the leadership, patience, life and guidance of our Founders. They have given us organization and directed us toward the mark of excellence. For this, we praise the Lord for you.

The deacons in the New Testament originated in Acts 6:6:1-3.

1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.

2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

The seven chosen caring for the widows and serving tables in Acts chapter six were not called Deacons at that time. When the term Deacon is used in 1 Timothy chapter three, it is an assumption that their service was the same as the seven in Acts chapter six. This assumption seems reasonable on the basis that The Greek Term “dakonos” from which “deacon” derived usually meant servant.

Our leader, Pastor Hardy, organized the Deacon Board to meet the needs of New Covenant Assembly Christian Ministry (NCACM). Our responsibilities include opening and securing the facility for worship services and auxiliary meetings, handling transportation needs of the church, maintaining the lighting, heating and air conditioning units, and landscaping all properties owned by NCACM. The Deacons also serve on the environmental team, which keep the facility immaculately clean.
